- What is CookbookPro?
- CookbookPro is a modern recipe manager for home cooks and families. Import recipes from any URL or photo, plan your week, build a merged shopping list, and share a private cookbook with your household.
- How does the URL import work?
- Paste any recipe link from a blog, NYT Cooking, TikTok, Instagram, or Pinterest. Our AI reads the page, finds the ingredients and steps, and drops a structured recipe into your library in seconds. You always get a chance to review before saving.
- Can it read a photo of a cookbook page?
- Yes. Snap a photo of a printed cookbook, handwritten recipe card, or screenshot. Our vision model transcribes the entire recipe including handwriting, then converts it to structured ingredients and steps.
- How does the meal planner work?
- Open Meal plan and you get a seven-day grid with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack slots. Drop recipes from your library into any slot, or type a freeform meal name. When you're done, one tap sends the whole week to your shopping list.
- Does it merge duplicate ingredients on the shopping list?
- Yes. If two recipes both call for onions, they combine into one line with the right total. Units convert automatically where possible, and items group by category so produce, dairy, and pantry are together at the store.
- Is CookbookPro free?
- Yes. The Free plan is free forever and includes 20 recipes, 20 smart imports, 2 shopping lists, and cloud sync. Pro is $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year (with a 14 day free trial) for unlimited recipes, unlimited AI imports, nutrition calculator, 10 shopping lists, and print or PDF export.
- Who can edit a recipe I add?
- Only you can edit recipes you create. Household members can read, cook, comment, and add their own recipes, but they cannot change yours. Every recipe permanently credits its author.
- Can I share a recipe with someone who does not have an account?
- Yes. Every recipe and cookbook can be shared through a private link that anyone can open in a browser, no account required.
- Can I scale a recipe up or down?
- Yes. You can halve, double, or triple any recipe. Quantities render as readable fractions, not awkward decimals, and units convert between metric and US on demand.
- Will my recipes be safe if I cancel Pro?
- Yes. Your recipes are always yours. Canceling Pro returns you to the Free plan with all your data intact.
- Does CookbookPro work on my phone?
- Yes. CookbookPro is designed mobile-first with large friendly type, comfortable tap targets, and a layout that works just as well in the kitchen as on a laptop.
- How do you keep my data private?
- Private cookbooks are visible only to members you invite. We never sell your data, photos, or stories. Recipes you explicitly mark public are visible to anyone with the link.
- Can I print or export recipes?
- Yes, on the Pro plan. You can print any recipe to a beautifully formatted page or export to PDF, including whole-cookbook exports.
